Emanuel Vigeland’s Museum

Located in Slemdal, Oslo, is a hidden attraction of the city called Emanuel Vigeland’s Museum. It displays the magnificent artwork of the artist, who is the younger brother of renowned sculpture and artist, Gustav Vigeland. The museum is open on weekends and e-tickets are available for booking.
Built in 1926, the museum features sculptures and painting of Emanuel Vigeland. He decided to make this a mausoleum (tomb), and called it Tomba Emmanuelle. Inside you find a massive 800-square-meter painting called VITA that depicts the concept of life to death. Located at Grimelundsveien 8, the museum is designed with dark interiors and a spooky ambience to give the artwork a unique angle. Walking past the exhibits here will give you a unique experience and add a new dimension to the word art. The museum is open to the public only on Sundays from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
