Lindøya

One of the many islands located in Oslofjord is Lindøya, a designated nature reserve island. It is a 15 to 20-minute ferry ride from Oslo either from the west or the east side. The peaceful vibes and picturesque views of the fjord from the island make it a quick getaway destination.
This idyllic island is popular for recreational activities like swimming and sports like football. In the southwest area, there is a swimming stadium from 1949. In centre of the island there is small football field dedicate to the sport. You can go for walking tours through the coastal side of the island to witness the local colourful houses lining the scenic waterfront. Atop the hill on the southeast part of the island is the monument Christiania Meridian built in 1850. Another historical attraction here is Stamhuset which was once an inn in 1750. These sites make Lindøya an ideal sightseeing tour location during the summers. After a short tour of the area, you can head back to Oslo via the ferry that comes every hour at the harbour.
