Norway Resistance Museum

The concept of this museum revolves around the days Norway’s resistance against Nazi Germany. Artefacts preserved here date back to the period from 1940 to 1945, the period of Norwegian struggle during the occupation. If you’re visiting Oslo, your itinerary is incomplete without Norway Resistance Museum, a place with strong roots in the country’s history.
Established in 1966, this museum is located in Akershus Fortess in Oslo amidst a garden of greenery. The building has maintained a traditional appearance with its medieval archtitechture and not much modernization. There are guides available insides in Norwegian and English. As you enter the premises, you will find exhibits of all forms – newspaper cuttings, photographs, armament, videos, memorabilia, etc. The artefacts kept intact here will take you through a journey, from the days of the occupation, the resistance, and WII. The museum maintains documents and soundtracks that cover each phases of these periods. The museum is open daily from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and a tour of all the sections will take 1-2 hours.
